Ottawa 3 – Pittsburgh 1 Ottawa Senators RW Dany Heatley scored two power play goals to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Rangers go 2-for-2 in Prague

Goals by Scott Gomez and Wade Redden was all the Rangers needed this afternoon as they beat the Tampa Bay Lighting 2-1, the identical score they beat the Lighting Saturday afternoon. The Rangers played a strong defensive game this weekend and were clearly the better team during the two game series. The Lighting couldn‚Äôt match the Rangers team speed and struggled on the power play As expected the Lighting were physical. The Lightning outhit the Rangers 31-10 but they were outshot 39-19. They Lighting made too many attempts to go out of their way to be physical. Ryan Malone seems more focused on stirring things up than trying to score. The Lightning have to be floured with the play of Steve Stamkos. He was making things happen all weekend. What I liked from the Rangers was their puck movement on the power play. Everyone was touching the puck and they‚ÄôreRead More »

NHL Preview: NorthEast Division

Inside report It will be a uphill battle for the Senators, Sabres and Bruins to overtake the Canadiens in the North East but that‚Äôs why they play the game. 1. Montreal Canadiens (47-25-10) The Montreal Canadiens are the fastest team in the league and among one of the most talented teams in the NHL. They made significant upgrades upfront adding Alex Tanguay (18 goals ‚Äì 40 assists ‚Äì 58 points) and Robert Lang (21 goals) who will center the third line. Tanguay joins talented forwards Alexei Kovalev (84 points), Tomas Plekanec (69points), Chris Higgins (52 points) and that is just naming a few. Offensively not too many teams can’t match up with the Canadiens. On defense Mike Komisarek is a force but the Habs could use some upgrades. How far the Canadiens go in the post-season will depend on young G Carey Price. Trading Cristobal Huet backfired on management asRead More »
