The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed defenseman Tim Erixon on waivers. If Erixon clears by 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, the team would have the option to send him to Wilkes Barre/Scranton.

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Kansas City Chiefs 36-21 on Sunday afternoon to go to 4-0 on the season. It is the Bengals first 4-0 start in 10 years.
Cincinnati with a two game lead over the Steelers in the AFC North got another big game from Andy Dalton who was 17/24 for 321 yards and a touchdown. It marks the second consecutive week Dalton has thrown for over 320 yards.
The Bengals have the Seahawks, Bills next up on the schedule before a week 8 showdown with the Steelers on November 1, a game Ben Roethlisberger could be back for.

Pat Narduzzi’s stamp on Pitt’s defense showed up in a big way as the Panthers held the Hokies to just 100 yards in total offense, 9 yards rushing, forcing 3 turnovers and sacking Virginia-Tech quarterback Brenden Motley seven times.
Panthers running back Qadree Ollison (19 CAR – 122 Yards – 1 TD) went over 100 rushing yards for the second time this season. QB Nathan Peterman was 9/15 for 110 yards, TD.
Penn State (4-1) needed three turnovers to beat Army (1-4) at home, 20-14, on Saturday afternoon. Army trailing by six, drove into Penn State territory with under two minutes to play and an opportunity for the win but a Jason Cabinda sack on 4th and 5 sealed the win for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State’s offense was mediocre in the loss. Christian Hackenberg was 10-19 for 156 yards and 1 touchdown.
Army out-gained Penn State 293 to 264 and had 17 first downs to Penn State’s 12.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have released kicker Josh Scobee and officially signed kicker Chris Boswell.
The Pittsburgh Penguins officially released Sergei Gonchar from his professional tryout contract today and Penguins GM Jim Rutherford hopes Gonchar accepts an off-ice role in the organization.
“If he’s not going to try and play somewhere else, we would really like to keep him in the organization,” Rutherford told Jason Mackey of the Tribune-Review. “”We feel that he would be a big asset to some of the things we’re doing.”
