Penguins to avoid seeing Carey Price Wednesday night

The NHL-best Montreal Canadiens come to town Wednesday night and the Penguins will avoid seeing Carey Price in goal. Price who is currently sidelined with a lower body injury, is getting a second opinion on his injury, the Canadiens announced today. Backup netminder Mike Condon has gone 6-0-1 with a 1.57 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage in place of Price


Roethlisberger’s injury not season ending

Ben Roethlisberger has been diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain that is expected to sideline him for a few weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Steelers face the Browns next week then have a bye before a critical four game stretch against the Seahawks, Colts, Broncos and Bengals.


Roethlisberger carted off to locker room

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger suffered a left foot injury on an Aldon Smith sack in the fourth quarter. Roethlisberger left the field unable to put any pressure on his leg and was carted off to the locker room.

Roethlisberger was 24-44 for 334 Yards and 2 touchdowns. The Steelers lead Oakland 35-28 with 5 minutes to go.


Oakland claims Andrew Lambo

Oakland Athletics Today claimed outfielder Andrew Lambo off waivers from the Pirates. Lambo was limited to 20 games with the Pirates this season due to a foot injury, hitting .040.


Tuitt, Allen to play vs Raiders

Defensive end Stephon Tuitt and safety Will Allen will return to the lineup Sunday vs the Oakland Raiders. Both are listed as a probable for Sunday’s game. Officially ruled out vs the Raiders are Terence Garvin and Matt Spaeth.


Steelers cut Dri Archer
