Enforer Tom Sestito released from his professional tryout contract on Thursday, has signed a professional tryout contract with the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

Ravens beat Steelers 23-20

Justin Tucker’s 52 yard field goal in overtime sealed a 23-20 win for the Baltimore Ravens (1-3).

Steelers – Ravens go to OT tied at 20-20

Two Josh Scobee missed field goals in the fourth quarter loomed large as the Ravens have forced overtime, scoring 13 unanswered points.

Justin Tucker’s 42 yard field goal with three seconds left in the 4th quarter has the game going to overtime tied at 20-20.

Pittsburgh will receive the ball to start overtime.

Cardinals clinch NL Central

The St. Louis Cardinals clinched the NL Central for a third consecutive year, beating the Pirates 11-1 in Game 2 of the Doubleheader.

It is the Cardinals first 100 win season since 2005.


Penguins lit up by Red Wings, 7-2

The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Penguins 7-2 on Wednesday night at the Consol Energy Center. Daniel Sprong (2) and Beau Bennett (3) were the Penguins lone goal scorers.

Detroit opened up a 5-0 lead by the 11:46 mark in the second period and cruised to the win.

Pittsburgh outshot Detroit 38-22 in the loss. Jeff Zatkoff made 15 saves on 22 shots in the loss.

Sidney Crosby was held scoreless for the first time this preseason.


Charlie Morton doesn’t make it past the third inning

Trailing 2-0 in a must-win to keep their division hopes alive, Charlie Morton was pulled with no outs in the third inning after loading the bases.

Jayson Heyward then delivered the knockout punch for the Cardinals with a grand slam off Bobby LaFromboise.

St. Louis is up big 6-0 in the third inning.

Gerrit Cole earned his 19th win of the season and Francisco Cervelli hit a grand slam, leading the Pirates to an 8-2 win over the Cardinals in Game 1 of the doubleheader.
