Tom Sestito signs PTO with Wilkes Barre

Enforer Tom Sestito released from his professional tryout contract on Thursday, has signed a professional tryout contract with the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.


Josh Scobee done as a Steeler?

After two missed field goals in the fourth quarter and now four on the season, Josh Scobee is tied for an NFL-worst 10 missed field goals since the 2014 season.

Will the Steelers pay Scobee $2.75 million to not kick for them again?

Ravens beat Steelers 23-20

Justin Tucker’s 52 yard field goal in overtime sealed a 23-20 win for the Baltimore Ravens (1-3).

The Steelers (2-2) in two overtime possessions were stopped on 4th down on both drives, a 4th and 2 from the Ravens 39 yard line as a designed Mike Vick run that went nowhere and a 4th and 1 on the Ravens 33 yard line that had Vick unable to hit an open Antonio Brown on a short out.

Baltimore scored 16 unanswered points in their comeback win.


Steelers – Ravens go to OT tied at 20-20

Two Josh Scobee missed field goals in the fourth quarter loomed large as the Ravens have forced overtime, scoring 13 unanswered points.

Justin Tucker’s 42 yard field goal with three seconds left in the 4th quarter has the game going to overtime tied at 20-20.

Pittsburgh will receive the ball to start overtime.

Cardinals clinch NL Central

The St. Louis Cardinals clinched the NL Central for a third consecutive year, beating the Pirates 11-1 in Game 2 of the Doubleheader.

It is the Cardinals first 100 win season since 2005.


Penguins lit up by Red Wings, 7-2

The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Penguins 7-2 on Wednesday night at the Consol Energy Center. Daniel Sprong (2) and Beau Bennett (3) were the Penguins lone goal scorers.

Detroit opened up a 5-0 lead by the 11:46 mark in the second period and cruised to the win.

Pittsburgh outshot Detroit 38-22 in the loss. Jeff Zatkoff made 15 saves on 22 shots in the loss.

Sidney Crosby was held scoreless for the first time this preseason.


Charlie Morton doesn’t make it past the third inning

Trailing 2-0 in a must-win to keep their division hopes alive, Charlie Morton was pulled with no outs in the third inning after loading the bases.

Jayson Heyward then delivered the knockout punch for the Cardinals with a grand slam off Bobby LaFromboise.

St. Louis is up big 6-0 in the third inning.
