David Warsofsky, Kevin Porter placed on waivers

The Pittsburgh Penguins today placed defenseman David Warsofsky and forward Kevin Porter on waivers. Warsofsky, Porter will be assigned to Wilkes Barre/Scranton if both players clear waivers at 12:00 p.m. Sunday.

Rosters have to be down to a maximum 23 players by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.


Pirates Walk-Off in the 12th

A Starling Marte 2-run homer in the 12th inning delivered a 6-4 walk-off win over the Cincinnati Reds tonight. It was the Pirates 11th walk-off win this season and Marte’s 3rd career walk-off homer, 2nd this season.

Cubs ace Jake Arrieta threw six shutout innings in a 6-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night. The Cubs could move one game behind the Pirates with a Pittsburgh loss tonight.


Penguins drop preseason finale 2-1

Penguins finish the preseason with a 3-5 record after a 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.

Marc Andre Fleury stopped 28 shots in a losing effort. Pascal Dupuis (1) scored his first preseason goal in the third period.


Kael Mouillierat nets OT winner for Wilkes Barre

Kael Mouilliert scored the game winning goal in 3-on-3 overtime with 24.7 seconds left to play, leading Wilkes Barre to a 2-1 win over Albany in preseason play.

Conor Sheary also scored for Wilkes Barre in the win.

Steelers – Ravens go to OT tied at 20-20

Two Josh Scobee missed field goals in the fourth quarter loomed large as the Ravens have forced overtime, scoring 13 unanswered points.

Justin Tucker’s 42 yard field goal with three seconds left in the 4th quarter has the game going to overtime tied at 20-20.

Pittsburgh will receive the ball to start overtime.
