#14 Pittsburgh beats Syracuse 37-10

The Pittsburgh Panthers are now 8-1 on the season for the first time in nearly 27 years after beating Syracuse 37-10 Saturday afternoon at Heinz Field.

Pitt got off to a slow start but a Greg Williams' 51-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the first half got the Panthers rolling.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Panthers were led by running back Dion Lewis who ran for 110 yards and a touchdown for the freshman's sixth 100-yard game.

Quarterback Bill Stull was 16 of 23 for 225 yards and one touchdown. Tight end Dorin Dickerson caught his 10th touchdown pass this season as the 8-1 Panthers host No. 19 Notre Dame next Saturday.

GT and USC were so close to going down too, but will remain about Pitt. OSU will probably jump ahead of Pitt, so they'll probably be either 10 or 11. At least I get bragging rights in my house... I have a roommate who went to WVU and a roommate that went to PSU, and I, of course, went to Pitt. Believe in the Stache!

Not saying the Big East is great, but I hope you're not saying that it's overrated. It gets absolutely no respect. There is nothing to base the Big Ten 'greatness' off of. And Ohio State jumped ahead of Pitt in the USA Today poll....what a joke.

THe BCS is the real joke. LSU actually moved up, USC is #9 (laughable at best), and Ohio State jumped Pitt. Ohio State is a two loss team that can't beat a good team.
