Pens Final Two Preseason Games on TV

NHL Network will pick up the live Chicago telecast of tonight’s preseason game between the Penguins and Blackhawks at 8:30 p.m. PCNC will televise the Penguins’ preseason finale against Detroit on Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. with Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey having the call. Both games will be carried on local radio – on flagship station 105.9 The X, on Penguins HD radio and on pittsburghpenguins.com. Steve Mears and Phil Bourque will have the call.

Steelers honor Chuck Noll

Farrior fined $15,000 for hit on Kerry Collins

The fines keep racking up for the Steelers. Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times Reports that linebacker James Farrior has been fined $15,000 for his hit on Kerry Collins in Sunday night’s game, according to Farriors agent. Collins is believed to have suffered a concussion on the hit.

Scott misses 2nd straight practice, not expected to play

Left Tackle Jonathan Scott missed his second straight practice due to an ankle injury. Scott is not expected to play Sunday afternoon. Trai Essex is set to start at left tackle. Elsewhere, Doug Legursky (shoulder) missed his second straight practice and is also not likely to play. Ramon Foster is preparing to start at right guard. Brett Keisel (knee), Steve McLendon (illness) and Arnaz Battle (knee) did not practice on Thursday.

Bylsma expects Crosby to make road trip for start of season

The Pittsburgh Penguins are not expecting Sidney Crosby to be ready for the start of the season, but Crosby is expected to travel with the team to Vancouver next week and practice with the team. Head coach Dan Bylsma said today that he expects Crosby to make the trip and all injured played unless their rehabs dictate otherwise and are need to stay in Pittsburgh.

Crosby centers third line in practice

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has yet to be cleared for contact, but he has been elevated in his line duty. With the Penguins going through their first full team practice with the reduction of players in camp, Crosby centered the third line in today’s skate, with Pascal Dupuis and Matt Cooke on his wings.
