#3 Pitt cruises past #8 Georgetown 70 – 54: Dejuan Blair had 20 points and 17 rebounds, and the Panthers (14-0, 2-0 Big East) never trailed in the game. The Panthers dominated the Hoyas in all assets of the game. Rebounds: 46-21 Bench scoring: 14-2 Points in the paint: 48-22. Blair (20 pts), Young (14 pts), Biggs (14pts). Pitt is a much different team than in years past. They have a player who can take over a game in Sam Young, a low post threat in Blair who is showing the ability to dominate at both ends of the floor and a bench that has the potential to be among one of the nation’s best. According to reports over two dozen scouts were in attendance. Blair is currently believed to be a mid 2nd round pick if he were to declare. Performances like this will skyrocket his draft stock but what position Blair would play in the NBA hurts his draft stock and makes it very likely that he will return for his junior season. Sam Young appears to be a late 1st round – mid 2nd round pick. His age (23) will hurt him but if continues playing at this level throughout the year he will go in the first round.
