Insider Only 5 players who need a strong preseason to make the roster

5 Players on the bubble
1. Ryan Mundy, Safety – The 2nd year safety has had a sub-par training camp after a strong mini-camp.
Mundy has been beat deep on a number of passing plays in camp and has fallen behind the versatile Roy Lewis who has the inside track on making the 53 man roster.
2. Keiwan Ratliff, Cornerback – With William Gay, Ike Taylor, Deshea Townsend, Keenan Lewis as locks at conerback and the team being very high on 5th round pick Joe Burnett, Ratliff is battling Anthony Madison for the final cornerback spot.
Carrying two rookies would enhance Ratliff’s chances of making the roster but head coach Mike Tomlin is very high on Madison.

3. RB Isaac Redman, Running back – At (6-0, 230), Redman has been the Steelers top performer in goal line situations. Redman has also fared well in blocking situations.
Redman has been one of those sleeper players who comes out of nowhere in camp but his chances of making the roster are slim.
If the Steelers keep 5 running backs, Redman will have to beat out Frank Summers and Justin Vincent
Mewelde Moore, Willie Parker, Rashard Mendenhall are locks to make the roster and the Steelers have no intentions on cutting ties with Carey Davis.
4. Bruce Davis, OLB – The Steelers 3rd round pick in 2008, Davis is in jeopardy of not making the Steelers roster.
Davis is currently working with the 3rd team defense and needs to improve his play on Special Teams. It will be a big preseason for Davis who had 22.5 sacks in his final two seasons at UCLA.
Andre Frazier has solidified his spot as the main backup behind James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley.
5. WR Stefan Logan/Shaun McDonald – Logan the former Canadian Football League star, will have to have a sensational preseason returning kicks for the Steelers to keep a roster spot for Logan who can only contribute in the kick and punt return game.
Veteran wide receiver Shaun McDonald caught 79 passes two seasons ago for the Detroit Lions but McDonald is not a lock to make the roster.
McDonald is currently 5th on the depth chart behind Mike Wallace. Sweed, Holmes, Ward, and Wallace are locks to make the roster.
