Triple-A Indy: Owens takes loss in 5-1 defeat
Starter Rudy Owens (6-6, 5.27 ERA) was tagged for 8 hits and 3 runs in the Indianapolis Indians 5-1 loss to Toledo on Wednesday.
Owens lasted 4 1/3 innings, striking out 8 and walking 2. Owens threw 57 strikes on 89 pitches.
Owens has not collected a victory since June 10th, a span of 5 starts.
Alvarez goes 0-for-3 at the plate

Double-A Altoona: Quiet night for Sanchez, Marte
The Altoona Curve defeated Akron 4-1 on Wednesday but it was a quiet night for notable prospects Tony Sanchez and Starling Marte.
Marte (.315 – 5 HR – 28 RBI) went 0-for-4 at the plate with 3 strikeouts. He is batting .315 on the season with 5 home runs and 28 RBI’s and 16 stolen bases.
Sanchez (.241 – 3 HR – 23 RBI) went 0-for-3 and his batting average has dipped to .241 on the season.
State College: Allie posts back-to-back quality outings
It has been a rough start for 2009 2nd round pick Stetson Allie (4.85 ERA) but he’s starting to show some command and had another encouraging outing for the State College Spikes tonight.
Allie lasted four innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 earned run, while striking out 5 and walking 2, in the Spikes 2-1 loss to Batavia.
In his last two starts, Allie has a line of: 8 IP – 7 H – 2 ER – 10 K – 2 BB.
