NFL: Source: Aaron Smith progressing towards a return by the playoffs; Ben has surgery

Pittsburgh's Aaron Smith is scheduled to have an MRI on his partial torn triceps early this week, and barring something unforeseen showing up in the MRI, Smith's rehab progress is on schedule for a late December return to the field.
