Albany 2 - Wilkes Barre 1
In a goaltending battle between netminders Justin Peters and John Curry, Albany broke through in the third period as Mike Angelidis and Jerome Samson each scored third period goals, leading the Albany River Rats to a 2-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Sunday afternoon in game three of the East Division Semifinals.
Albany leads the series 3-0.
Trailing 2-0 late in the late in the third period, Chris Conner scored at the 14:27 mark to cut Albany's goal to one.
Justin Peters closed the door in the final minutes, making 31 saves to improve to 3-0 in the playoffs.
John Curry made 26 saves in the loss who made his second straight start as Brad Thiessen was recalled to Pittsburgh.
Wilkes Barre was 0-for-4 on the power play.
Game 4 is Monday night. If Wilkes Barre is eliminated Monday 3-to-5 players will be added to the Penguins playoff roster.
