The Penguins lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 in a frustrating game to watch. The Penguins were not able to generate much offense and their defenseman looked terrible for most of the night. Sidney Crosby and Colby Armstrong were the lone goal scorers for the Pens. Scuderi, Melichar and Nasreddine need to go or atleast 2 out the 3 need to go. Nasreddine will be sent down when Eaton comes back and that cannot be soon enough.

The Line-combos from the start of the game were awful. Playing Petrovicky with Christensen and Malone is proposterous. What is Therrien thinking playing this guy with them. For the past 10 or so games the Penguins had a solid 4th line of Talbot-Thorburn – Ruutu and somehow Petro finds his way on the ice. Playing Michel Ouellet with Ruutu and Talbot is not helping his cause either. Get Thorburn back in the lineup and get Petrovicky the hell out of here. Marc Andre Fleury had another solid game between the pipes. His defenseman did not help him much and he stood tall in the net. The Penguins are still lacking the ability to breakout effectively against teams like Tampa Bay and New Jersey. That have not found ways to adjust to Tampa Bay’s neutral zone left wing lock and that goes on the shoulders of Therrien and the defenseman. Who thinks Ryan Malone days are numbered as a Penguin once the trade deadline hits? We sure do.
