SCOTT BORAS TACTIC?
First round pick Mark Appel, a Scott Boras client, does not appear happy about falling to No. 8 in the draft after being regarded as the possible No. 1 pick. Appel bailed out on a media conference call which is rare among first round picks but did release a statement, indicating he will address the “possibility of a professional career in due time.”

Appel in a released statement says, “I’m currently concentrating on winning a national championship and finishing my academic endeavors at Stanford. I will address the possibility of a professional career in due time.”
