-- Tonight's pitching matchup has Jeff Karstens (1-2, 5.25 ERA) vs Bud Norris (5-5, 4.90 ERA). Karstens is coming off a strong outing against the Cardinals Saturday where he allowed 2 earned runs in seven innings of work, receiving his first win of the season. Karstens faces Houston for the first time tonight and was excellent against them last season, going 3-0 with an 0.40 ERA in three starts, including a complete game 5-hit shutout against the Astros on July 15, 2011. Norris has been effective against the Pirates in the past striking out eight in six innings of work in Houston 1-0 victory at Pittsburgh on May 11.
