Trade Watch

If the Penguins want Colby Armstrong it is going to cost them puck moving defenseman Alex Goligoski according to a league source. Contrary to other reports, the Thrashers are not actively shopping Armstrong and they remain very high on him. Armstrong has 13 goals on the year, has been a great locker room presence and is averaging between 15-17 minutes of ice time per game. The Thrashers have received quite a few inquires about Armstrong including from the Penguins, Wild, Rangers, Kings, and Flames. As I’ve been mentioning for a while, the Thrashers are actively shopping former Penguins forward Eric Christensen. Columbus, Montreal, New York Islanders and the Phoenix Coyotes are four teams to express interest. The trade deadline always

Miroslav Satan will be a healthy scratch tonight; Gill in

Forward Miroslav Satan will be healthy scratch tonight against the Tampa Lightning, head coach Michel Therrien announced following the Penguins optional skate this morning. Satan has two goals in 21 games. Forward Luca Caputi will begin the game with Petr Sykora and Jordan Staal. Caputi is expected to remain with the team until Ruslan Fedotenko returns to the lineup next week. If he continues to play well and provide a spark, Caputi will remain with the team after that but the plan coming in was to just get him some game and practice experience at the NHL level. Defenseman Hal Gill will return to the lineup after being a healthy scratch against the Canadiens Tuesday night. The Tampa Bay Lightning

The Latest Steelers Buzz

Photo courtesy of SteelCityHobbies The Pittsburgh Steelers held their victory parade in downtown Pittsburgh today. Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau deserve a lot of credit for the team’s success on the field but Kevin Colbert deserves a lot of credit for constructing a Super Bowl champion. The Steelers got minimal production from their 08 draft but Colbert make key draft picks in 07 such as Lawrence Timmons, William Gay who didn’t make much of a impact in 07 but were unsung players on the 08 team. I doubt there are many fans questioning the team drafting Lawrence Timmons now. He’s going to be a special player next year. 2007 Second round pick LaMarr Woodley who has 8 sacks
