MLB: Jim Tracy candidate for Brewers Job?

Former Pittsburgh Pirates manager Jim Tracy is itching to manage again and could become a candidate for the Milwaukee Brewers job. Tracy who was successful in his five seasons with the Dodgers had no success in Pittsburgh managing one of MLB’s lowest payrolls. The injury bug continues to hit the Steelers as Troy Polamalu did suffer a concussion yesterday. Polamalu has suffered concussions in the past and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin will address Polamalu‚Äôs status for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants at Tuesday‚Äôs press conference. Cornerback Bryant McFadden is under-going tests today and to see if he has a broken arm. McFadden has been the Steelers top cornerback this season and has flourished since being implemented into the starting lineup. Losing Polamalu and McFadden would be major blow to the Steelers secondary. Pirates name Joe Kerrigan pitching coach

The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced they have hired Joe Kerrigan as their pitching coach. Kerrigan, 54, replaces Jeff Andrews, who was fired after only one season. Kerrigan was the pitching coach for the Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.

The GM meetings will be held in Chicago on Thursday. Marian Gaborik will be at the forefront with the Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, expressing significant interest. While the Canadiens have been mentioned as the early front runner in the Gaborik sweepstakes, the Rangers are a team to keep an eye on. The Pittsburgh Steelers won their 8 consecutive game in Cincinnati today beating the Cincinnati Bengals 38-10. The Steelers dominated the Bengals in all facets of the game, out gaining the Bengals 375 – 212. Ben Roethlisberger had another strong performance going 17/28 216 yds – 2TD’s. Roethlisberger hit Mewelde Moore for a two yard touchdown pass in the 1st quarter and Roethlisberger put the game away when he connected with Nate Washington for a 50 yard touchdown pass to put the Steelers up 24-10 in the fourth quarter.
