Heatley’s two goals power Senators to 3-1 win

Ottawa 3 – Pittsburgh 1 Ottawa Senators RW Dany Heatley scored two power play goals to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The goaltending was strong in this game as Senators G Alex Auld made 30 saves and was on the verge of a shutout until rookie defenseman Alex Goligoski scored his 1st career NHL goal with 1.1 seconds left in the third period. Penguins goaltender Marc Andre Fleury played well enough for the Penguins to win but the Ottawa Senators won the special teams game scoring two power play goals. The Penguins power play continues to struggle without D Sergei Gonchar. The Penguins went 1-for-7 on the day and finished the weekend 1-14.

Goals by Scott Gomez and Wade Redden was all the Rangers needed this afternoon as they beat the Tampa Bay Lighting 2-1, the identical score they beat the Lighting Saturday afternoon.
