Dave Hoover’s week 14 Fantasy Football Insider Report

WEEK 14 BYE: NONE START QUARTERBACK Joe Flacco @ Houston Analysis: Flacco has been solid over the past seven weeks, averaging 267 passing yards and two touchdowns per game. Houston ranks last in the NFL against the pass, so this is a great time to start Flacco, especially coming off of a tough loss to Pittsburgh. Josh Freeman @ Washington Analysis: Freeman has been a borderline #1 starter this season, and ranks just outside the top ten in fantasy scoring for quarterbacks. Tampa Bay has to win this week to remain in the playoff hunt. Washington ranks 29th against the pass, and looks like a team that has packed it in. I like Freeman this week. QB’s With Good Matchups: Jay Cutler vs New England, Mike Vick vs Dallas, Kyle Orton vs Arizona, Peyton Manning vs Tennessee, Phillip Rivers vs Kansas City RUNNING BACK Peyton Hillis @ Buffalo Analysis: ThisRead More »

Week 13 Fantasy Football Start’em – Sit’em Preview

WEEK 13 BYE: NONE START QUARTERBACK Jay Cutler @ Detroit Analysis: Cutler has eight touchdowns and one interception in his last three games against Detroit. The Bears are playing great football right now, and Detroit is reeling. Start Cutler this week. Mike Vick vs Houston Analysis: Vick should shred the Houston defense on Thursday night. Vick has been putting up big numbers, and Houston owns the NFL’s 2nd worst pass defense. This is a great matchup for Vick. QB’s With Good Matchups: Mark Sanchez vs New England, Eli Manning vs Washington, Sam Bradford vs Arizona, Josh Freeman vs Atlanta, David Garrard vs Tennessee, Kyle Orton vs Kansas City, Peyton Manning vs Dallas RUNNING BACK Jamaal Charles vs Denver Analysis: Although he will continue to split carries with Thomas Jones, Charles has been highly productive and remains a great option. Start him this week against a soft Denver rush defense. MikeRead More »

Week 11 Fantasy Insider: Steelers Fantasy Impact

WEEK 11 BYE: NONE START QUARTERBACK Mark Sanchez vs Houston Analysis: Sanchez is on-fire right now. He has averaged 317 passing yards over the past two weeks, and now faces the worst pass defense in the NFL. Houston has given up 22 touchdown passes in just nine games, and they have only intercepted five passes. With Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, Dustin Keller, and LT out of the backfield, Sanchez has the weapons. This week, he also has the matchup. David Garrard vs Cleveland Analysis: Here’s another hot quarterback with a great matchup. Over the past two games, Garrard has averaged 300 yards and three touchdowns. Over the past five games, Garrard has 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Cleveland ranks 23rd against the pass. QB’s With Good Matchups: Matt Cassel vs Arizona, Shaun Hill vs Dallas, Josh Freeman vs San Francisco RUNNING BACK Jamaal Charles vs Arizona Analysis: Charles isRead More »

Dave Hoover’s Week 10 Fantasy Football Insider Report

WEEK 10 BYE: Packers, Saints, Raiders, Chargers START QUARTERBACK David Garrard vs Houston Analysis: With three great quarterbacks on bye this week, Garrard might be a very nice filler. He is coming off of a five touchdown game vs Dallas, and this week he faces the worst pass defense in the league. Houston has given up 20 touchdowns in eight games. Joe Flacco vs Atlanta Analysis: Flacco is red-hot right now. He has tossed seven touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last three games. Atlanta is ranked 26th against the pass, allowing an average of 250 yards per game. QB’s With Good Matchups: Mike Vick vs Washington, Ben Roethlisberger vs New England, Matt Hasselbeck vs Arizona, Mark Sanchez vs Cleveland, Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Detroit RUNNING BACK Jahvid Best @ Buffalo Analysis: Best hasn’t been great recently, but he has a terrific matchup this week against Buffalo. Matt Stafford injured hisRead More »

Dave Hoover’s Week 9 Fantasy Football Report

WEEK 9 BYE: Broncos, Jaguars, 49ers, Rams, Titans, Redskins START QUARTERBACK Eli Manning @ Seattle Analysis: Eli Manning has nine touchdown passes in his last three games. Manning has arguably the best trio of wide receivers in the league and a solid history vs the Seahawks. In two games at Qwest Field, Manning has averaged 307 yards passing. Seattle’s pass defense ranks 29th in the league and somehow made Jason Campbell (310 yards, 2 TD’s) look like a stud in Week 8. Josh Freeman @ Atlanta Analysis: With six quarterbacks on bye this week, you may be looking to fill a starting spot at QB. Josh Freeman has been very solid the past four weeks, averaging 247 yards passing and one touchdown per game over that stretch. On the year, Freeman has passed for 1,533 yards with eight touchdowns and only three interceptions. Atlanta’s pass defense ranks 27th in leagueRead More »

Dave Hoover’s Week 7 Fantasy Football Preview

Week 7 BYE: Lions, Texans, Colts, Jets START Quarterback Kevin Kolb @ Tennessee Analysis: Kolb threw for 326 yards, three touchdowns and one interception last week vs Atlanta. This week he faces a Titans defense that has been poor at stopping the pass. Kolb will be without star WR DeSean Jackson this week, but I still expect a solid game. Chad Henne vs Pittsburgh Analysis: This start comes with risk, but if you’re desperate for a bye week filler, Henne could be your man. The Steelers are almost impossible to run against, so teams are forced to throw in order to move the chains. Pittsburgh ranks 24th in the NFL against the pass, and even rookie Colt McCoy, making his first ever pro start, had a decent day against them. Also, McCoy had virtually no offensive weapons at his disposal, while Henne has Brandon Marshal and Devon Bess. Henne mightRead More »
