beau-bennett Early Tests have revealed Beau Bennett is likely to miss around six weeks, head coach Mike Johnston said this afternoon. “Beau is going to be six weeks, it looks like,” Johnston said.

The good news is no surgery is required.
Bennett was injured early into last season than suffered a major wrist injury in November that was never right the entire season, leading to more surgery in the summer. It will now be another season where he doesn’t start at full health.
The way Bennett got injured Friday was one of those freak things but based on his history in college and now the Pros, he’s just one of those athletes who is likely to always get injured.
PRE-GAME BUZZ
  • Marc Andre Fleury will start will in goal today
  • The Penguins expect Sidney Crosby back tomorrow and to play on Monday. I’m told the Penguins had planned for Kapanen to play with Crosby and Chris Kunitz today but that plan obviously won’t happen.
  • Thomas Greiss is expected to start Monday with Jeff Zatkoff playing a period. The Penguins strongly believe Zatkoff will clear waivers before the season.
