The Toronto Blue Jays and Jose Bautista have agreed to a five-year, $65 million contract that also includes a club option for $13 million in 2016.
Enrique Rojas, of ESPNdeportes, was the first to report the tentative agreement Wednesday.
Bautista, 30, has been a career journeyman but exploded with 54 home runs and 124 RBI's in 2010 for Toronto.
Bautisa was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 20th round of the 2000 draft. Bautista was traded from Pittsburgh to Toronto in 2008.
He hit 16 home runs in 2006 with the Pirates, followed by 15 home runs in 2007 for Pittsburgh.
