Wednesday’s Practice Report
The Penguins went through a 50 minute workout this afternoon at Mellon arena which began around 12:00 p.m.
Defenseman Philippe Boucher will return to the lineup against the New York Islanders.
Boucher alternated with

the Penguins third defensive pairing in practice today. He will play with either Hal Gill or Rob Scuderi
The vibe around the room was Hal Gill will get a night off as he is a little banged up.
Boucher will work the second power play unit with Mark Eaton at the points.
Boucher underwent successful foot surgery in February.
Interim coach Dan Bylsma indicated Mathieu Garon will start in one of the Penguins final two games.
As of yesterday morning all indications were Garon would start against the Islanders if the Penguins beat the Lightning. I don’t expect that plan to change.
Goaltending coach Giles Meloche was working with Garon during practice and the two went over film of Garon’s last start following today’s workout.
Strong sign that he will start.
The Penguins players are really pushing for Evgeni Malkin to win the scoring title. It means alot to them. Sidney Crosby, Petr Sykora and Bill Guerin talked about it today.
