I am surprised they protected Blueger over Tanev ! Let’s hope there is a side deal with Seattle not to take Tanev. If they lose Tanev he is harder to replace than Blueger. We also will ad $3.25 million to the $ 4 million we have available in cap space. We will have $ 7 million to go get a Blake Coleman or Pat Marron type to replace him.

They already have their goalies lined up and it wouldn’t make any sense to take Jarry. They aren’t going to take Tanev with his cap hit, term and age. The second they signed Blueger they were planning on protecting him, especially with the uncertainty of Malkin going into next year. There’s probably a 90% chance they take ZAR. They just need to shed Zucker and/or MP so they can have enough space to sign an impact player.
