Burnett allows 1 run, 2 hits in 4.2 innings pitched

A.J. Burnett making a rehab start for the Bradenton Marauders Friday night against the St. Lucie Mets, pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run, 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. The right-hander threw 67 pitches, 43 for strikes and his fastball hit 94. There’s a sense from Pirates management right now that Burnett is likely to rejoin the Pirates before the expected May timetable.
