Post-Practice Notes
Even with Sidney Crosby’s return for this season in doubt, members of the Penguins organization believe that the Penguins remain a Cup contender in the Eastern Conference. Head coach Dan Bylsma echoed those same statements today.

Bylsma said even if the Penguins don’t make any more moves, the Penguins have a roster good enough to get out of the second round, if players get healthy.

*Alexei Kovalev was not at practice. He was sent home to get his stuff from Ottawa but his flight back to Pittsburgh got cancelled.
*Brent Johnson not at practice, lower body day to day. He is not getting traded.
*Tyler Kennedy, lower body, day to day, not at practice. Believed to be a groin injury.
Chris Kunitz not yet ready for full practice but continues to progress and is skating.
*Bylsma says that when Paul Martin comes back (likely Wednesday), Kovalev will probably still run the point on the first unit and be on the half wall for the power play on the second unit.
He called the demotions of some of the WBS guys “procedural”
