Inside Pittsburgh Sports has learned, California University of Pennsylvania will name Mark Swasey their new women’s basketball coach later this afternoon.
Sawsey will replaced Heather Kearney who guided Cal U to a 29-5 record in her one season as head coach. Kearney accepted a position as associate head coach at Appalachian State University.
Swasey was named Division II WBCA/Russell EAST Region Coach of the Year in 2009 leading NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire to the Division II National Championship game.
Franklin Pierce University was the National Championship Runner Up in 2009
Swasey was the head coach for Franklin Pierce University from 2002-2009.
