Defensive end Cam Heyward is officially listed as the starter as the Left Defensive End over Ziggy Hood. Hood drafted in the first round in 2009, has been the starter at LDE for parts of four seasons and full-time since the 2011 season. Hood and Heyward’s careers are on the same path in that neither player has evolved into an impact player. Heyward has 2 tackles this season but has a better ability to get to the quarterback than Hood. Heyward’s 9 QB hurries are second on the team.
