ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun reports Chicago Blackhawks Assistant GM Norm MacIver is on the Penguins list and is expected to get a look from the team.
MacIver has spent the last seven years with the Blackhawks organization. He was named assistant GM in 2012. Prior to being named Assistant GM in 2012, he previously served as Director of Player Personnel for a season and as Director of Player Development for three seasons with Chicago
MacIver played for the Penguins near the tail end of his career in 1994-1996.
Notes: Rookie defenseman Olli Maatta will have shoulder surgery on Thursday. He is expected to be sidelined for at least four months. It was first reported by Bob McKenzie of TSN.
