NEIL COVETED BY EASTERN CONFERENCE TEAMS

Are Eastern Conference teams eyeing a chance to lure Chris Neil from Ottawa a few months now? The Senators playing in the difficult Atlantic Division, could have some attractive pieces for sale come February and rugged Chris Neil would be at the top of the list.
With two years left on his contract and a cap hit of $1.9 million, the sense around the league appears to be that the Senators could strongly consider moving Neil who turns 35 in June.
Multiple teams will be chasing Neil, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up of the Penguins making a strong play for Neil. Larry Brooks of the New York Post throws the Rangers into the ring. “Every team in the East must measure itself against Boston and the prospect of going best-of-seven with the Big Bad Bruins,” Brooks writes. “Which is why Chris Neil, who does have a limited no-trade in Ottawa, is of definite value to the wanna-B’s of the conference, most certainly including the Rangers.”
