A source close to the team tells me Penguins management had an organizational meeting early this morning to discuss personnel decisions leading into the playoffs
General manager Ray Shero was apart of these meetings with the coaching staff along with assistant GM Chuck Fletcher through conference call.
A source close to the team tells me Bylsma has expressed a desire to use Satan in a top six role, most likely on Evgeni Malkin’s Left Wing.
Whether all of this talk is just a smoke screen remains to be seen but it became known in these meetings that if Satan sees the ice, it will be in a top 6 role.
Ray Shero does not want Satan playing in a third line/4th line role.
Bylsma who coached Satan in New York, believes he can still contribute and liked what he saw from Satan playing with Evgeni Malkin prior to the salary cap coming into play at the trade deadline.
Satan’s agent Allan Walsh has been telling people in hockey circles that the Penguins gave Satan their word that he would get a shot at getting into the lineup.
