Crosby continues daily on-ice workout routine, skating in 9 a.m. hour this morning

Latest Updates on Orpik, Crosby, Letestu
Another morning, another positive step in Sidney Crosby’s recovery from a concussion.
Crosby again this morning went through an on-ice workout at Southpointe. Crosby skated during the 9 a.m. hour and he is starting to slowly intensify his on-ice workouts, which is a very encouraging sign.

Crosby is said to be looking very good during drills and progressing at an “accelerated rate”.
*Also of note, Mark Letestu participated fully in on-ice individual workouts, prior to today’s practice at 11:00 a.m. He will miss his 3rd straight game tomorrow night against the Philadelphia Flyers but Letestu’s return is close and he should be back in the lineup by next week.
Defenseman Brooks Orpik is also on track to return to the lineup at somepoint in the coming days, possibly as early as Sunday afternoon against the Florida Panthers.
He will practice wth the team this week and is on the ice right now in Southpointe, participating fully. It’s his first practice since breaking his finger on Feb. 23 against the San Jose Sharks.
Orpik has missed the last 11 games and the injury has been considered by most as a 5 week injury.
Orpik has been able to skate on his own for weeks now and he won’t need much time to get back into game shape.
Updated 11:55 a.m. – Suspended winger Matt Cooke is not participating in today’s on-ice practice but is running in the parking lot, going through dryland activities. No official word if he will speak today.
