Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is leaving the possibility open to playing Friday night vs the Dallas Stars, although it might be a slight one.

Crosby said after practice that as of right now nothing has changed regarding his status and he’s “maintaining” the company line for now, saying that he will be back when all parties believe he’s ready. Crosby though did not shut the door on playing like he did early last week regarding the Penguins west coast road trip to San Jose and Los Angeles.
“Playing Friday is a possibility just like the other however many games left there are.”
Crosby though said today that his focus is just “getting through this week.”
It has been expected that the Penguins wouldn’t make a big spectacle of Crosby’s return and that he might go into the game he returns “as a game time decision”.
Dan Bylsma after practice also maintained the company line, saying there is no timetable for Crosby’s return.
