Sidney Crosby is pointless in his last four games for the fourth time in his career as the Pittsburgh Penguins are in the midst of a two game losing streak. Is it too early to be concerned?
Crosby (16 pts) is not getting much help from Bill Guerin (3 goals) who has not scored in 10 games and linemate Chris Kunitz only has 3 goals this season.
The power play also continues to struggle as the Penguins are 0-for-21 in their last four games.
The reason to be worried for Crosby's struggles is that he's one of the games top playmakers and only has 7 assists.
Crosby has shown the ability to be a more prolific goal scorer lately (24 goals in his last 41 games) but his greatest attribute is his playmaking ability.
Since March 5, 2009, the Kunitz - Crosby - Guerin unit has been together for the most part and it's too early to split them up. Pittsburgh doesn't have any better options at this point to play alongside Crosby anyways.
The player to watch over the next 3-4 weeks is Bill Guerin who will turn 39 on Monday.
