Cumpton optioned to Triple-A after impressive spring

cumpton SP Brandon Cumpton was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis this morning after an impressive spring. Cumpton appeared in six games during spring training and was 1-0 with a 2.21 ERA. He’s a pitcher who fans will likely see at somepoint this season. Cumpton made 5 starts in 2013 for the Pirates, going 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA. The Pirates will go into the season with a rotation of Francisco Liriano, Charlie Morton, Gerrit Cole, Wandy Rodriguez and Edison Volquez
