Analysis: Dennis Dixon threw the ball very well, was accurate and precise. Will battle Charlie Batch for the #2 spot

Analysis: Logan has good quickness but only shot of making the team is through special teams. Summers has all the physical tools, but needs some work and is Kirby Wilson’s project this summer.

Analysis: Hines Ward and Martin Nance did not participate in drills. Sweed and Baker got significant reps with the 1st team.
McDonald worked in as the Steelers #3 and #4 receiver. Wide receiver Brandon Williams was the #5 receiver in today’s workout. Wallace was getting a lot of instruction from the coaching staff on the side.

Analysis: Johnson has soft hands in traffic. Made a few impressive grabs today. Team maybe leaning towards McHugh over Spaeth in blocking situations
1st Team Offensive Line
LT Starks – LG Kemoeatu – C Hartwig – RG Stapleton – RT Colon
Anlaysis: Kraig Urbik was behind Darnell Stapleton on the depth chart today. Tony Hills, Trai Essex and Jason Carpizzi took reps at tackle behind Colon and Starks. Essex also got some reps at left guard.

1st team Defensive Line
DE Smith – DT Casey Hampton – DE Keisel
2nd Team Defensive Line
DE Eason – DT Hoke – DE Kirschke/ Hood
Analysis: Defensive end Ziggy Hood worked behind Travis Kirshke during defensive sheme drills. Hood will get reps at defensive tackle this week, according to defensive line coach John Mitchell. These seven are the main defensive linemen going into camp.
Outside Linebacker

Analysis: Andre Frazier and Arnold Harrison were #2 on the depth chart behind the Steelers dynamic duo of James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley on day 1 of mini camp. Bruce Davis will have to jump Frazier and Harrison in training camp to get on the field this season.
Middle Linebacker

Analysis: Wood and Fox are currently the Steelers primary backups at middle linebacker. Fox looked good today dropping back into coverage.

Analysis: William Gay worked exclusively with the 1st team. Fernando Bryant and Deshea Townsend were the primary backups with Anthony Madison filling in for Bryant in some situations. Joe Burnett was worked in with the third team. Keenan Lewis did not get any reps with the 1st through 3rd teams.

Analysis: Ryan Clark did not participate in team drills today. Ryan Mundy and Roy Lewis were the teams primary backups. Both players will push Tyrone Carter for a roster spot. DeShea Townsend got some reps at safety
