The wait is over. Ilya Kovalchuk has re-signed with the New Jersey Devils, the team announced on their twitter account this morning. A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday.
Kovalchuk, 27, was the prized free agent to hit the open market this summer. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound winger scored 41 goals and 44 assists for 85 points last season.
