The Pittsburgh Penguins have resigned forward Dustin Jeffrey to a two year deal worth $1.15 million, the team announced this afternoon.
Jeffrey’s deal will carry a cap hit of $575,000. He receives a two way deal in 2011-2012 and one-way deal in 2012-2013.
Jeffrey who is recovering from knee surgery, collected 7 goals and 5 assists in 25 games with the Penguins last season. The team is expecting Jeffrey to have a full recovery but he’s not likely to be fully ready for the start of camp.
With Jeffrey’s deal being a two-way deal for next season, his cap hit does not affect the Penguins summer cap, as the team still has around $2.9 millon in cap space.
