The Steelers will be at St. Vincent College in Latrobe for three weeks. Players must report by 4 p.m. on July 31. Camp breaks on Aug. 21.
After reporting, they will take part in the run test later that day. The run test is closed to the public.
The Steelers have 29 scheduled practices. On 11 days, they will practice twice, first in the morning and then in the afternoon. On seven days, they practice just once, in the afternoon. The first of the two-a-days is Saturday.
Morning practices are always closed to the public.
The afternoon practices, and one night workout, are open to the public.
Afternoon practices begin at 2:55 p.m. and generally last until 5 p.m.
The one night practice (Friday, Aug. 7) at Memorial Stadium in downtown Latrobe starts at 7 p.m.
There is no admission charge for any practice held at St. Vincent. There will be a small fee for their practice at Memorial Stadium.
Here are the practice days that are open to the public: Aug. 1-11 and Aug. 15-20.
Parking is free.
Parking lots open at noon. But fans cannot enter the St. Vincent College campus until 1:30 p.m. The campus closes one hour after the end of practice.
WHERE TO WATCH
The Steelers practice on four fields situated in a natural amphitheater. Fans can watch from bleacher seats Chuck Noll Field, the home of the St. Vincent football team. Fans can also watch from the hillsides or along a fence that rings the practice fields.
The best time to obtain autographs from the players is after practice and it’s at the players’ discretion as to whether they sign on a particular day. There are areas designated for fans to stand to obtain the autographs.
There is no formal setting for player autographs on a daily basis.
The Steelers will also sign autographs for 15 minutes before their night practice at Memorial Stadium.
Kids of all ages can test their skills or just try various exercises. They can run, kick, throw, catch, visit a mock locker room, get their photo taken looking like a Steeler and get their face painted as if it’s game day. Kids can try their hand at interactive games and activities.
The Experience is free to the public and open from 1:30-6 p.m. when the Steelers have afternoon practices. It’s located on a baseball field near the Steelers’ practice fields.
Videotaping of practice is now permitted. Video cameras should not be brought on campus.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on campus. Bags and coolers will be searched by security.
No pets are permitted on campus.
Training camp is handicapped accessible. There is a handicap drop-off area as well as handicap seating. A government-issued placard is required.
To access the handicapped parking area, take Route 30 to St. Vincent Drive and follow signs.
The Steelers merchandise tent is open whenever the Steelers have practice at St. Vincent. The tent is located near the entrance to campus, across from the parking lots.
The St. Vincent snack bar is open every day the Steelers practice.
Fans can bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages if they choose to do so.
