Top prospects Eric Tangradi (3) and Luca Caputi each scored, Tangradi at even strength, and Caputi on the power play and Wyatt Smith added a shorthanded goal as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 3-1 on Saturday night at Wachovia Center.
Goaltender John Curry made 29 saves, including 20 saves in the third period, as Curry improved to 8-5-1 on the season.
Dustin Jeffrey added three assists and earned the games No. 1 star. Jeffrey has 18 assists on the year to go along with one goal.
Luca Caputi continues his strong play and has seven goals on the season, one behind Ryan Bayda for the team lead.
