Fitzgerald leaves coaching staff; named Assistant to the General Manager

Tom Fitzgerald will be leaving the Penguins coaching staff and the Penguins have opened up a new position for him naming him the assistant to the General Manager.

Mike Yeo will remain with the coaching staff.

Dan MacKinnon has been promoted to Director of Player Personnel.

MacKinnon, meanwhile, becomes Director of Player Personnel and will oversee all aspects of the Penguins’ professional scouting operation in North America and Europe.

He also will work closely with Director of Amateur Scouting Jay Heinbuck to ensure that the Penguins have a comprehensive scouting network at all levels of hockey. MacKinnon will be entering his fourth season with the Penguins after spending six years in the scouting department of the Nashville Predators.
