Goaltender Marc Andre Fleury was selected before teammate Kris Letang in the 1st annual All-Star game fantasy league style draft.
Fleury was selected by Team Lidstrom 18th overall and was the 4th goaltender selected in the draft.
Defenseman Kris Letang was selected 23rd overall by Team Staal. Letang mentioned when the Detroit Red Wings were in town 10 days ago, that he had hoped to be selected by captain Nik Lidstrom who was someone Letang looked up to when he was younger.
Carolina's Cam Ward was the 1st overall selection and to no surprise was selected by Team Staal. Staal took care of everyone that he needed too, selecting teammates Ward and Jeff Skinner and most importantly, his brother Marc Staal who was selected 13th overall by his brother.
Steven Stamkos was selected second overall by Team Lidstrom. Alexander Ovechkin was selected 3rd overall by Team Staal.
Toronto's Phil Kessel was the dreaded last pick but got rewarded with a new car.
The Sedin twins were selected on opposite teams which is one of the top storylines.
