Flyers acquire the rights to Dan Hamhuis

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired the rights to Nashville Predators defenseman Dan Hamhuis, the team announced this afternoon.
The Nashville Predators acquired Flyers defenseman Ryan Parent and will also receive a 2011 conditional pick as part of the deal.
I just spoke to Wade Arnott the agent for Hamhuis who tells me that he spoke with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren this morning and that the two sides agreed to begin contract negotiations in “earnest” starting Monday morning.
Therefore, no deal is in place at this time.
Hamhuis was a top target of the Flyers at the trade deadline along with a number of other teams including the Pittsburgh Penguins.
