FREE AGENCY UPDATE II
The Pittsburgh Penguins or in the process or have officially submitted offers to both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Pittsburgh was among the first teams to reach out to Parise. Indications are offers to both players are and will be for 10 years. It’s possible I’m told Pittsburgh could go to 11 or 12 years on Parise but not likely on Suter as the vibe is Pittsburgh intends to be much more aggressive for Parise. Suter I can confirm is seeking at least a 10-13 year deal. Teams are making presentations to Parise today but there’s been no indication that the Penguins are sending an entourage to Toronto. Sidney Crosby is being a big part of the Penguins pitch, while Craig Adams who is repped by the same agent as Suter has called Suter to sell him on how great of a place Pittsburgh is to play at and live. At least five teams are believed to have submitted offers to both Suter and Parise as the two could end up being a combo and sign at the same place.

Meanwhile, a league source confirms that the Penguins are among a number of teams to call about Brad Boyes, a right handed shot, former 40 goal scorer who only had 8 goals last season. Teams appeared to be intrigued about taking a chance on Boyes as I’m told the Capitals and Islanders are also among “several” teams to call. Boyes is one of those players the Penguins could circle back too.
