Fresh off a highly entertaining shootout win against the Buffalo Sabres, the Penguins head to New Jersey tonight to face off against the Division leading Devils. Although the Penguins did surrender a two goal lead last night, the most important thing is they managed to get the two points. I’ll take two points any day of the week against the conferencing leading Sabres. Marc Andre Fleury gave up four goals on 19 shots and on paper it looks like he had a awful game but in all honesty he was very strong between the pipes. The second goal Drury scored, Fleury had no chance and you can’t fault Fleury for the third goal as Daniel Briere is going to score on a breakaway every once in a while. He is one of the top players in the game. The 4th goal with less than ten seconds left in the game has to go on the coaching staff for the personnel decisions they made late in the game. Brooks Orpik had an exceptional game and was hitting anything that moved but once again Joe Melichar was out their in the final minutes and was beat in front of the net for the tying goal. Just take a damn penalty in front of the net when there’s less than 30 seconds to play. The coaching staff has too look into shortening the bench in the final 5-7 minutes of the game when they are preserving a lead.
