Giants beat Redskins 16-7

Plaxico signed a 5 year extension prior to Thursday’s kickoff and he rewarded the Giants front office with a dominating performance Thursday night against the Washington Redskins. While Burress put on a stellar performance, the Giants defense was once again the story of the game. Running back Brandon Jones led the Giants ground attack gaining 116 yds on 21 carries. Free agent signee John Carney kicked three field goals for the New York Giants
Inside Report
Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell struggled from the onset. Campbell has had a tough time learning Jim Zorn’s offense and it’s going to take him sometime to find his comfort zone. The Redskins defense made the needed adjustments following the first half to keep the Skins in the game. The Redskins defense is going to have to win a lot of games early in the season until the offense comes around.
