The New York Giants have released WR Plaxico Burress little more than four months after the talented but troubled wide receiver accidentally shot himself in the thigh in a New York City nightclub, according to reports.
This comes as a surprise as teammates and even the front office have talked about Burress returning once his legal troubles go away.
The Giants signed Burress to a five-year, $35 million contract extension in September
