The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar this afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Defenseman Sergei Gonchar remains out due to an illness and did not participate in the Penguins pre-game skate.
Meanwhile, Evgeni Malkin will miss his 3rd straight game with a right foot injury. Malkin is also not expected to be available for tomorrow’s game against Toronto.
Brent Johnson who did not practice yesterday due to illness, will be the Penguins backup tonight.
The Flyers will also be without two marquee players as forward Jeff Carter and defenseman Matt Carle will not be in the lineup.
With Malkin out of the lineup once again, head coach Dan Bylsma will alter his top two lines.

Sidney Crosby will stay with Alexei Ponikarovsky and Pascal Dupuis on the first line, while Jordan Staal centered Chris Kunitz and Bill Guerin in warmups.
