Those close to Sergei Gonchar have it made known for weeks that Sergei Gonchar believes he can play at a high level for at least 3-to-4 more years.

It appears Gonchar has his sights set on playing beyond the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

J.P. Barry the agent for Sergei Gonchar told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun that Sergei wants to play "at least four more seasons" and maybe even play into his early 40's.

I am sick of hearing that Gonch and Lidstrom are on the same level. When Lidstrom was Gonch's age he was playing 80 game seasons. Gonch has missed significant time the last 2 years

Not to mention Lidstrom has never had a minus season, which shows he is head and shoulders above Gonch defensively. Gonch has had 6 including last year

Only way id think aobut going that many yeras would be if he took a major discount and took a 4y/15mi contract and have a cap his of about 3.75mil, but even thats a risk

I can see gonch playing other four more season I wouldn't be surprise but try to be a lil bit more reasonable with your price then we can welcome you back with open arms I do believe gonch will be his old self when he signs to a team this year he still good at offense.... defense not sure yet maybe he just had a off year at that. I want him back but at right price. I think we are all guilty off judging gonch off last year his career is good and is worth good dollars but his asking price is a lil bit of a gamble on our part and other team will over pay for him if he does well with other club I wouldn't be surprised hope he makes right decision and come back to the pens with a reasonable price tag

This obviously comes from a questionable source, but Eklund claims that Hamhuis and the Flyers were in agreement over both years and term, but playing time was the issue.

maybe, I like O'Sullivan for the right price but Cheechoo is too soft. Modano still plays with some grit in his game, Id rather bring Colby back than any of the three though, I hear he will be looking for 3 mill per though, and I think its too much.

this season will count the 5th season since Cheechoo scored 50 goals, and was tried on every line with about every line combo in San Jose and Ottawa with really good centers, Thorton, Marleau, Spezza, Fisher idk if even the great Wizard of Cros can resurrect his career would be fun to watch though

I think the point is dirt...rather have some of the young guys get the chance to see what they can do...Shero will still make his deadline deal to get a couple of pieces to the pie...and there is always a trade....which I still feel may happen...especially if we sign both Ham and Gonch...

regular season godard is fine, of the guys i named i dont think i am stretching on any of them as they ahve all seen time. and i am saying you can spend around 8 mill on d. take a risk on 2 wings low price, or 1 solid at around 2.5 and still be ok cap wise. those guys in teh minors come up as stated earlier if one of the gambles doesnt pan out

After following these post for weeks now I can't believe it took this long for someone to point out that the top 6 scorer we desperately need is already here. The problem is we bury him as a 3rd line center. I love the 2 way game Staal brings to the 3rd line but with his proven chemistry with Geno and the fact that Talbot, Letestu and Kennedy(originally a center) are all capable of filling that roll, it's time to make that move.

Damn. It was so good I said it twice...lol. Also love the idea of major upgrades in the D. Our defense of Lord Stanely's cup didn't end because we couldn't score, it ended because Flower had ZERO help preventing the opponent from doing so. Let us not forget, even with all the injuries, Geno's production disappearing and resigning Feds, we scored the 5th most goals last season.
