Penguins roll into New York short-handed

Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma indicated after today’s morning skate that forward Bill Guerin and defenseman Alex Goligoski need further evaluation.
Goligoski will be sidelined with what is believed to be an upper body injury. Goligoski took a hard hit in Sunday’s game and was seen favoring his right shoulder after the game but the exact nature of his injury remains to be seen.
Tonight is a big game for Martin Skoula who has been a healthy scratch for 8 straight games. If Goligoski is out for a period of time, Ben Lovejoy will be back with the team.
Meanwhile, the team has been mum on the extent of Guerin’s injury. According to a source on the scene, many thought Guerin was just taking the morning off when he didn’t participate in the Penguins skate but that wasn’t the case.
Both players will be evaluated and under-go tests on Tuesday in Pittsburgh by team doctors.
Losing Guerin for any amount of time would be a serious blow to the Penguins. Guerin leads all Penguins wingers with 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists).
